Royal Borough of Greenwich Co-operative Commission To agree the Commission report and its recommendations, and to agree the use of funding from Section 106 Carbon Offset Funding to support the delivery of the recommendations. Additional documents: Decision: Agreed the ‘Together for Greenwich: Co-operation for the future’ Commission report and its recommendations, included in Appendix 1 of the report.
Agreed the use of £1.0m one-off funding of Carbon Offset Section 106 for eligible expenditure from the ‘Together for Greenwich: Co-operation for the Future’ Commission. This includes the launch of a Community Energy Fund (CEF) to enable communities within the borough to apply for funding to support and/or deliver community energy projects that deliver carbon reductions. Minutes: The Chair noted that the matter had been to Overview and Scrutiny Committee on 30 January and they had had no comments for Cabinet.
The Cabinet Member for Health, Adult Social Care and Borough of Sanctuary introduced the report. The Cabinet Member thanked Officers including the National Management Trainee. The Cabinet Member highlighted the development of the Commission report and its recommendations, and the Our Greenwich missions it focused upon. The Cabinet Member commented on the history of the Co-operative movement in Woolwich, and that the recommendations before Cabinet demonstrated that the Council was working in a partnership and co-operative way. It was suggested that following the change of government the recommendations were coming forward at a key time.
The Cabinet Member for Health, Adult Social Care and Borough of Sanctuary informed Cabinet of the Cooperative Councils Innovation Network conference to be held at the Woolwich Works on 12 and 13 February.
The Chair thanked the Cabinet Member for Health, Adult Social Care and Borough of Sanctuary and Officers in bringing forward the recommendations.
Resolved -
1. That the ‘Together for Greenwich: Co-operation for the future’ Commission report and its recommendations, included in Appendix 1 of the reportbe agreed.
2.
