Members to declare any personal and financial interests in items on the agenda. Attention is drawn to the Council’s Constitution; the Council’s Code of Conduct and associated advice.

Resolved-

That the list of Councillors’ memberships as Council appointed representatives on outside bodies, joint committees and school governing bodies is noted.

Members are requested to confirm as an accurate record the Minutes of the meeting held on 28 March 2024

No motion or discussion may take place upon the Minutes except as to their accuracy, and any question on this point will be determined by a majority of the Members of the body attending who were present when the matter in question was decided. Once confirmed, with or without amendment, the person presiding will sign the Minutes

Resolved –

That the Minutes of the meeting of the General Purposes Committee held on 28 March 2024 be agreed and signed as a true and accurate record.

To agree to a salary range of £90,800 - £101,318 for an additional post of Assistant Director of Public Health / Consultant in Public Health posts (Chief Officer Grade D) in accordance with the Council’s Pay Policy Statement:

Noted that the Chief Executive has delegated authority to establish, in consultation with the Party Group Leaders, individual Appointment Panels for the appointment of Chief Officers based on the requirements of the post.

The Assistant Chief Executive (Change and Development) presented the report.

During discussion of the matters Members suggested that the pay level process be reviewed, and that LGA benchmarking on the matter be sought.

Resolved –

That a salary range of £90,800 - £101,318 for an additional post of Assistant Director of Public Health / Consultant in Public Health posts (Chief Officer Grade D) be agreed in accordance with the Council’s Pay Policy Statement:

The addendum report was taken as the substantive report.
