Decision details.

Contract Award for the Council's Statutory Notices and Advertising

Decision Maker: Leader of the Council

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: Yes

Is subject to call in?: Yes

Purpose:

The Leader of the Council is requested:-

1.       To note that the Council has undertaken a procurement exercise in relation to seeking a contractor to operate the Royal Borough of Greenwich’s Statutory Notices and Advertising Contract.

2.       To agree that the Council  appoints Tenderer A (identified in the exempt appendices) to deliver the Statutory Notices and Advertising Contract for an initial period of three years, with a possible extension of two years.

3.       To note that whilst the Council made clear that it cannot guarantee an on-going minimum or maximum volume of statutory notices and other advertising, it was anticipated that the minimum value of the contract will be approximately £100,000 per annum and the maximum value will be around £400,000 per annum. This would equate to a probable contract value of up to £1.2m for the initial three year period.

4.       To note that based upon the actual volume of Statutory Notices placed in 2015/16 in Greenwich Time, the Council’s former weekly newspaper, the equivalent cost of this contract would be £246,038 per annum or £738,114 over the three year period. (This figure should only be used as a guide, as the volume of statutory adverts cannot be predicted for any given year).

5.       Agree that the exempt information, as defined in paragraph 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act, 1972 and section 41 (information supplied in confidence) and section 43 (information relating to the commercial interests of the person identified) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000is not published.
