Decision:

In reaching its decision the Sub Committee considered the Council’s statement of Principles, the Gambling Act 2005, the Regulations made there under and the Guidance issued by the Secretary of State under Section 162(1) Gambling Act 2005 of that Act. In discharging its functions the Sub Committee did so with a view to promoting the licensing objectives of the

1.       Prevention of gambling from being a source of crime & disorder, being associated with crime & disorder or being used to support crime, public safety, the prevention of public nuisance and the protection of children from harm;

2.       Ensuring that gambling is conducted in a fair and open way;

          and

3.       Protecting Children and other vulnerable persons from being harmed or exploited by gambling

Having considered all the evidence put before it the Sub-Committee decided to grant the application for the variation of a Gaming Machine Permit under Section 283 of the Gambling Act 2005 in respect of

The Gate Clock, 201 Creek Road, London, SE10 9RB

as follows:

To vary the Gaming Machine Permit to allow one additional Category C gaming machine at the premises thus authorising six machines in total.

In reaching their decision the Sub-Committee considered the application. The Sub Committee noted that no representations had been received.

The Sub-Committee were satisfied that the application in this particular case would not be contrary to the licensing objectives. The Sub-Committee considered that there were sufficient restrictions in place to effectively limit the risk of underage use.
